Privacy and data protection policy

This legal notice applies to the pages of the web portals and electronic sites owned by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities acts as the data controller with regards to the processing of personal data relating to users of its services. The data provided by the data subject will be used exclusively for the purposes foreseen in each procedure or action.

The current regulations in the field of personal data protection consist of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (GDPR) and Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPD). In accordance with the aforementioned regulations, the Ministry will guarantee the confidentiality of the personal data processed. To this end, it will adopt the necessary technical and organisational measures.

Collection of personal data

In order to exercise the powers attributed to it and to provide services to citizens, the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities may collect and process personal data.

The Ministry will inform about the personal data it collects directly from the data subject at the time of collection. The information provided shall specify the purpose, the legal basis of the processing, the rights that the data subject may exercise, the identity of the data controller regarding the processing and the contact details of the data protection officer. You may consult additional information in the Register of Processing Activities, which is the document that contains all the personal data processing activities carried out by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

Recipients, assignment and transfer of data

In most cases the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities does not communicate the personal data processed to other recipients. In the cases in which they are communicated to third parties, we always act in application of the regulations in force, informing the data subject where appropriate.

Data storage period

The data will be stored for the time necessary to guarantee the provision of the services offered by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

Exercise of rights

The user may at any time exercise the rights recognised in relation to the data processed by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. To do so, you may submit a request for Access, Limitation, Rectification, Portability, Portability, Deletion or Opposition on the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities’s e-Office, in accordance with the regulations in force.

Exercising your personal data protection rights

You may also contact the supervisory authority, in this case the Spanish Data Protection Agency, and lodge a complaint if you consider that your personal data is not being processed in accordance with the regulations in force.

In order to collect and process both expressions of dissatisfaction with the services provided and initiatives to improve their quality, you may submit a complaint or suggestion on the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities’s e-Office.

The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities uses a web analytics service consisting of installing cookies temporarily for the sole and exclusive purpose of preparing statistical reports. Cookies are files created in the user's browser to record their activity on the website. A cookie does not identify a person, but a computer-browser-user combination, has a limited temporal validity and in no case is used to collect personal information.
