Technology centers are non-profit entities, legally incorporated and resident in Spain, which are created in order to contribute to the overall benefit of society and the improvement of the competitiveness of enterprises through technological knowledge generation, performing R&D and developing its applications. The activity of these centers has proved essential for technological and industrial development of the Spanish SMEs.
Technological Innovation Support Centers are created in order to facilitate the application of knowledge generated by research organizations, including technology centers, by means of the intermediation between them and the companies, providing support innovation services.
The Real Decreto 2093/2008, of 19 December, regulates Technology Centers and Technological Innovation Support Centers at State level, and creates a public register for informative purposes https://sede.micinn.gob.es/inforct/
