The equipment, staff, and organization of this distributed ICTS form a dynamic collective for providing service to the scientific community in the field of molecular and functional imaging, as well as advanced imaging. It includes latest-generation technologies and resources for researchers in the field of biomedical imaging. This distributed ICTS is composed of the Translational Imaging Infrastructure of the CNIC, the Platform for Molecular and Functional Imaging of CIC-biomaGUNE, Complutense Bio-imaging Unit and Imaging La Fe.
The BioImaC Node manages three different image services belonging to the Complutense University of Madrid. It comprises the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance facilities and Electronic Spin, Brain Cartography facilities and Diagnostic Imaging. This infrastructure has an image diagnosis service for animals, facilities for brain mapping with electroencephalography for humans, as well as a molecular imaging service for microPET in animals. Plus, they have analytical NMR technology. Among its equipment, there is a cyclotron and a radiopharmaceutical laboratory devoted to radiopharmaceuticals preparation for human use, which broadens the geographical distribution in terms of availability of radiotracers throughout the national territory.
