Proyectos de Colaboración Internacional PCI 2026-2

Spain, through the agency, is a member of transnational consortiums, both in the European Research Area and internationally, through the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding in which it commits to financing transnational, bilateral and multilateral collaborative projects, of high scientific-technical level and in which the participation of Spanish research teams is relevant.

The procedure for granting aid to “International Collaboration Projects” within the State Programme for Transfer and Collaboration, aims to finance Spanish entities that have successfully participated in competitive European or international calls for proposals, subject to bilateral or multilateral research and innovation programme agreements that require national funding.

This second procedure of granting aid, from the year 2026, to “International Collaborative Projects” finances the Spanish part of collaborative research projects, selected in international calls of several schemes:

• The Partnerships of the European Union Horizon Europe Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2021-2027). These programmes are based on grant agreements signed between the European Commission and the participating countries and on consortium agreements signed by the participating partners. All of them receive cofinancing from the European Commission in different schemes.
• The Collaborative Research in Computational Neuroscience (CRCNS) program, a multi-bilateral program promoted by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE), in collaboration with funding agencies from several European Union countries, including the Agency, and from outside the union, is regulated by a signed partnership agreement.
