Information System on Science, Technology and Innovation (SICTI)

The Information System on Science, Technology and Innovation (SICTI) is an information platform shared between the State and the Autonomous Communities, which is created by mandate of Law 14/2011, of 1 June, on Science, Technology and Innovation.

The SICTI is a governance element of the Spanish System of Science, Technology and Innovation (SECTI), used to carry out the monitoring and evaluation of the Spanish Strategy of Science, Technology and Innovation (EECTI) and the plans that develop it.

SICTI is also the source for the development of specific statistics and indicators in the field of science, technology and innovation.

Integrated University Information System (SIIU)

The Integrated University Information System (SIIU) is a platform for the collection, processing, analysis and dissemination of data from the Spanish University System.

In 2010, the development of the SIIU began with the participation of the autonomous communities, universities and the Ministry, for which the Statistical and University Information Commission was created, a fundamental pillar of the system. The SIIU brings together resources from all the institutions that make up the Spanish University System and allows for homogeneous and comparable information.

SIIU is also a primary tool for obtaining the official university statistics included in the National Statistical Plan.

Open data and reuse

The publication of open data allows citizens to share valuable information from which a new added value can be obtained. Advantages of the publication of public data are: transparency; liberating the social and commercial value of data; promoting the participation and commitment of citizens.

The objective of the open data policy of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities is to provide the data in its possession so that in an open way any citizen or company can exploit and reuse them, always complying with the conditions required by the applicable regulations.
