Premios Nacionales de Investigación y Premios Nacionales de Investigación para Jóvenes 2026

The purpose of this order is to approve the call for applications for the year 2026 of the National Research Awards and the National Research Awards for Young People, on a competitive basis and in accordance with the principles of publicity, transparency, objectivity, equality and non-discrimination, in the following modalities:

National Research Awards:

• Santiago Ramón y Cajal National Award, in the area of biology.
• National Award Leonardo Torres Quevedo, in the area of engineering and architecture.
• National Award Ramón Menéndez Pidal, in the area of humanities.
• National Gregorio Marañón Award, in the area of medicine and health sciences.
• National Award Alejandro Malaspina, in the area of natural resources sciences and technologies.
• Blas Cabrera National Award, in the area of physical sciences, materials and land.
• Enrique Moles National Award, in the area of chemical science and technology.
• Juan de la Cierva National Award, for knowledge transfer.
• Julio Rey Pastor National Award, in the area of mathematics and information and communication technologies.
• National Pascual Madoz Award, in the area of law and economic and social sciences.

National Youth Research Awards:

• National Margarita Salas Award, in the area of biology.
• National Award, Matilde Ucelay, in the area of engineering and architecture.
• María Moliner National Award, in the area of humanities.
• Gabriella Morreale National Award, in the area of medicine and health sciences.
• National Award Ángeles Alvariño, in the area of sciences and technologies of natural resources.
• National Award Felisa Martín Bravo, in the area of physical sciences, materials and land.
• Maria Teresa Toral National Award, in the area of chemical science and technology.
• Angela Ruiz Robles National Award, for knowledge transfer.
• María Andresa Casamayor National Award, in the area of mathematics and information and communication technologies.
• Clara Campoamor National Award, in the area of law and economic and social sciences.

Podrán ser candidatas a los Premios Nacionales de Investigación las personas de nacionalidad española que hayan realizado en España una parte significativa de su carrera investigadora y estén desarrollando una labor relevante y reconocida internacionalmente en el momento de la presentación de sus candidaturas.

Por otro lado, podrán ser candidatas a los Premios Nacionales de Investigación para Jóvenes las personas de nacionalidad española, con edad máxima de 40 años en la fecha de finalización del plazo para la presentación de candidaturas, que estén desarrollando una labor investigadora excelente y reconocida internacionalmente en una institución española en el momento de la presentación de sus candidaturas.

Cada candidatura incluirá a una única persona candidata que solo podrá presentarse a una de las modalidades de Premios convocadas en virtud de esta orden Ministerial.

The presentation of candidacies will necessarily be made through the electronic means enabled for this purpose in the Electronic Headquarters of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities in the section “Procedures” and section “Awards and Recognitions”, being essential the subsequent signature of the candidacy and registration.

The deadline for the submission of candidatures begins at 00:00 hours on the day following the publication of this announcement in the Official State Gazette and ends at 15:00 on April 6, 2026.
