Con la concesión de los Premios Nacionales de Innovación y de Diseño se pretende distinguir a aquellas personas y entidades (instituciones y organizaciones) que han hecho de la innovación un elemento indispensable en el desarrollo de su estrategia profesional y de su crecimiento empresarial. Asimismo, se trata de galardonar a los profesionales y empresas que han contribuido significativamente al incremento del prestigio del diseño español y a las entidades que, incorporándolo a su estrategia empresarial, han demostrado que el diseño es una potente palanca de la innovación y la competitividad.
The purpose of this order is to approve the call for the National Innovation and Design Awards corresponding to the year 2026 on a competitive basis and applying the principles of publicity, transparency, objectivity, equality and non-discrimination, as well as those of effectiveness in fulfilling the objectives set and efficiency in the allocation and use of public resources, in the following modalities:
- National Innovation Award modality “Innovative Trajectory”
- National Innovation Award modality “Great Innovative Company”
- National Innovation Award modality “Small and Medium Innovative Company”
- National Innovation Award modality “Young Innovative Talent”
- National Design Award modality “Trajectory in Design”
- National Design Award modality “Design and Company”
- National Design Award modality “Young Design Professionals”
Published the Order approving the call for the National Innovation and Design Awards 2026.
The following entities and/or persons may be candidates for each of the modalities of the prizes:
NATIONAL INNOVATION AWARDS 2026
- Modality "Innovative Trajectory": individual physical person with a trajectory of at least fifteen years in which innovation has been one of the relevant characteristics.
- Modality "Large Innovative Company": large companies with an innovative activity of at least fifteen years.
- Modality "Small and Medium Innovative Company": small and medium enterprises with proven innovative activity of at least five years.
- Modality "Young Innovative Talent": individual physical person with a proven innovative potential, whose age does not exceed thirty-five years on the day of the presentation of the candidacy.
NATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS 2026
- Modality "Trajectory in Design":Design professionals (individual individuals or teams of professionals with a single legal identity) with a trajectory of at least fifteen years of recognized prestige in the sector.
- Modality "Design and Company": companies that have incorporated design into their business strategy for at least ten years.
- Modality "Young Design Professionals": individual natural person with an age not exceeding thirty-five years on the day of the presentation of the candidacy.
Natural persons with full capacity to act, who have Spanish nationality or are resident in Spain and legal persons who have at least one permanent establishment in Spain, validly constituted, may be candidates. In the case of natural persons, only one natural person and not several will be considered as candidates. In all cases, it is required that the candidates have performed in Spain a significant part of their professional activity, are active and developing a relevant and internationally recognized work at the time of presentation of the candidacies.
The presentation of candidatures will be made obligatorily through the electronic means enabled for this purpose in the link https://ciencia.sede.gob.es/ of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, in the section "Procedures", section "Science and Innovation" and section "Prizes and Recognitions", being essential the subsequent signature of the candidacy and registration of the same.
The telematics application is available from the DD day of MM 2026 at 00:00 (peninsular time) to the DD day of MM 2026 at 15:00 hours, peninsular time.
El Premio Nacional Innovación en las modalidades “Trayectoria Innovadora” y “Gran Empresa Innovadora” y el Premio Nacional de Diseño en la modalidad “Diseño y Empresa” tendrán un carácter estrictamente honorífico.
El Premio Nacional Innovación en la modalidad “Pequeña y Mediana Empresa Innovadora”, dispondrá de una dotación económica de 50.000 euros; el Premio Nacional Innovación en la modalidad “Joven Talento Innovador” dispondrá de una dotación económica de 30.000 euros. El Premio Nacional de Diseño en la modalidad “Trayectoria en Diseño” dispondrá de una dotación económica de 50.000 euros, el Premio Nacional de Diseño en la modalidad “Jóvenes Profesionales del Diseño “dispondrá de una dotación económica de 30.000 euros.
Estas cuantías estarán siempre condicionadas a la existencia de crédito adecuado y suficiente en el ejercicio que corresponda. Los premios en estas modalidades no podrán concederse ex aequo.
