Proyecto de Real Decreto por el que se regula la concesión directa de subvenciones a entidades que prestan servicios de interés general al sistema español de ciencia y tecnología

This royal decree aims to regulate the direct granting of five grants, on an exceptional basis and for reasons of public and social interest, to two foundations, a university and a public consortium with an autonomous scope, for the development of actions of general interest for the Spanish system of science and technology.

The beneficiary entities and the actions to be financed are the following:

• La Fundación Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA), para sufragar gastos de funcionamiento.
• The Centre for Genomic Regulation Foundation (CRG), to finance the necessary expenses for its collaboration with the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and for the operation of the EMBL headquarters in Barcelona.
• The University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR), to finance the operating expenses of the Spanish node of the Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et Éculaire (CECAM).
• The Institute of Physics of Altes Energies (IFAE), to finance actions related to the preparation of the construction of the Einstein Telescope (Einstein Telescope, ET).
• The Institute of Physics d’Altes Energies (IFAE), to meet current expenses associated with the technical and scientific participation of Spanish groups in the activities of the European Gravitational Observatory (EGO) and in the operation of the Virgo detector during 2026.

These grants contribute to the strengthening of the Spanish System of Science, Technology and Innovation by supporting international scientific cooperation, the development of infrastructures and research capabilities, advanced training, the generation of scientific-technical knowledge and Spanish participation in scientific initiatives and networks of special relevance.

The period of hearing and public information will remain open from 00:00 hours on August 10 to 23:59 hours on August 31, 2026.
