The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities has begun the process of drafting the future Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation (EECTI) 2028-2034, which will constitute the new frame of reference for the development of public R+D+I policies in Spain over the next few years.
This new strategy is conceived as an open, participatory and evaluable exercise, taking as its starting point the experience accumulated with EECTI 2021‑2027 and aligning itself with the emerging scientific, technological, social and economic challenges, as well as with the new European funding framework and strategic priorities.
The preparation of EECTI 2028-2034 will involve all the agents of the Spanish system of science, technology and innovation, public administrations, the scientific and technological community, the business sector and citizens, incorporating different perspectives from the initial phases of the work. The objective is to build a shared strategy that strengthens the impact of R&D&I in society, improves the system’s capacity to generate knowledge and values its contribution to the country’s well-being, sustainability and competitiveness.
It will be possible to participate in this process of elaboration of the new Spanish Strategy of Science, Technology and Innovation through the questionnaire that the Ministry makes available to all agents of interest. The participation will be open until 5 June 2026.
