Andrés Castellanos, National Research Award: Physical, Material and Earth Sciences
Andrés Castellanos Gómez has been recognized with the National Research Award for Young People in the area of Physical, Material and Earth Sciences for his important contributions in the research of two-dimensional materials that stand out for their originality and potential in this area of science.
Andrés Castellanos is a scientific researcher at the Madrid Institute of Materials Science of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (ICMM-CSIC). In his research he explores new 2D materials of atomic thickness and studies their mechanical, electrical and optical properties with special interest in the application of these materials in nanomechanical and optoelectronic devices. Through its study, it tries to integrate two-dimensional materials into biodegradable substrates.
