Marc Güell, National Award for Research in Technology Transfer
Marc Güell Cargol has been recognized with the National Research Award for Young People in Technology Transfer for his contributions and their potential in the use of synthetic biology for the generation of new basic principles of molecular biology that allow the design of biological systems. The jury has highlighted the originality and solidity of its contributions for the adequate and balanced transfer of technology and knowledge, both to society and to the business environment.
Marc Güell is a principal researcher in the Translational Synthetic Biology group and a professor at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). His current research focuses on applied synthetic biology. He is developing lines of research in gene therapy and in the engineering of the skin microbiome.
