Héctor Serrano Barbeta has been awarded for exceptionally embodying the breadth, creativity, versatility and excellence of Spanish design through objects and creations of impact, recognizable internationally, and full of illusion, beauty, sensitivity and fun.

Over more than two decades, always from a humanist and social vocation that combines innovation and familiarity, Serrano has managed to stand out holistically in multiple design disciplines such as interior design, graphics, product design or craftsmanship.

Thanks to a profoundly innovative approach, with which it turns around everyday products, it has managed to make some of its most iconic references, such as the latex lamp Superpatata or the botijo Siesta, where craftsmanship and tradition are reinterpreted, objects present all over the world today.

The versatility and impact of their designs is markedly evident in their contribution to the winning project of the Madrid Concept Bus ideas competition for EMT Madrid 2023.
