Controlled Test Environments (Sandboxes)

In the field of innovation and technology, the term sandbox refers to a safe and controlled environment where tests and experiments of new technologies, services or business models can be carried out without affecting users or the market in general. A sandbox provides a structured context for experimentation, allowing to test, in real situations, innovative technologies, products, services or approaches during a defined period and sector and under regulatory supervision.

The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities has published a sandbox guide with the aim of facilitating knowledge about safe regulatory testing environments, and providing, in an accessible way, guidelines and guidelines so that public officials can implement a sandbox safely and effectively. In addition, innovative agents will be offered guidelines and examples of the advantages and opportunities linked to these environments.
