Directorate-General for Innovation Coordination
The Sub-Directorate General for Coordination, attached to the General Secretariat for Innovation, performs, among others, the following functions:
Representation and promotion of Spanish participation in innovation promotion programmes promoted by the European Union; coordination of various initiatives, programmes and projects in relevant sectoral issues, in particular in the clean energy sector (SET Plan) and marine and maritime policy.
Coordination of the bodies with the financial path of the General Secretariat for Research and the General Secretariat for Innovation, for actions co-financed by the ERDF within the Multiregional Operational Programme of Spain (POPE).
The management of national awards in the field of innovation and design, as well as the coordination of institutional activities aimed at the consolidation of design as a tool generating competitiveness and innovation.
Relations and coordination with other units, bodies and agencies of the General Administration of the State responsible for innovation policies and sectoral policies closely related to them.
The coordination of State aid with the State Research Agency and the CDTI.
