The Science, Technology and Innovation Advisory Council (CACTI) is the body responsible for the participation of the scientific and technological community and of economic and social agents in matters related to science, technology and innovation.
Among the main functions of CACTI, the following are worth particular mention:
- Advise the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities in the preparation and reporting of the proposals for the Spanish Strategy for Science and Technology and Innovation (EECTI).
- Advise the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities in the preparation and reporting of the proposals of the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation.
- Propose, at its own initiative, objectives and modifications for inclusion in the instruments indicated in the previous paragraphs, and learn about their subsequent development through annual reports.
- Advise the governments of the State and the Autonomous Communities and the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy in the exercise of their functions, and report on the matters they determine.
