Advisory Council on Science, Technology and Innovation

The Advisory Council on Science, Technology and Innovation (CACTI) is the organ of participation of the scientific and technological community and economic and social agents in matters related to science, technology and innovation.

Among the main functions of the CACTI are the following:

  • To advise the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities in the elaboration and report the proposals of the Spanish Strategy of Science and Technology and Innovation (EECTI).

  • Advise the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities in the elaboration and report the proposals of the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation.

  • Propose on its own initiative objectives and modifications for incorporation into the instruments indicated in the previous paragraphs, and learn about their subsequent development through annual reports.

  • Advising the governments of the State and of the CC.AA. and the Scientific, Technological and Innovation Policy Council in the exercise of their functions, and to report on matters which they determine.

  • Its composition and operation is described in Royal Decree 1024/2015, of November 13, which approves the Regulations of the Advisory Council on Science, Technology and Innovation.
