International Committee on Arctic Science (IASC)

The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) is an international non-governmental scientific organization whose objective is to promote and facilitate international cooperation between all countries involved in Arctic research and in all areas of the Arctic region. The IASC promotes and supports cutting-edge interdisciplinary research in order to foster a greater scientific understanding of the Arctic region and its role on Earth.

The IASC is organized through a Council and a series of working groups and action groups.

Spain has been a member of the IASC since 2009 and since 2016 has had representatives in the 5 working groups of the committee.
