The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) is an international non-governmental scientific organisation that seeks to foster and facilitate international cooperation among all countries involved in Arctic research and in all areas of the Arctic region. The IASC promotes and supports cutting-edge interdisciplinary research with the aim of furthering scientific understanding of the Arctic region and its role on Earth.
The IASC is organised through a Council and a number of working and action groups.
Spain has been a member of the IASC since 2009 and, since 2016, has had representatives in the committee's five working groups.
