The Astrophysical Observatory of Javhilo is located at 1956 m of altitude in the Pico del Buitre, in the municipality of Arcos de las Salinas, province of Teruel. It is managed by the Centre for Physics Studies of the Cosmos of Aragon. It has been designed to make large multi-filter cartographies of the greatest scientific interest in the fields of astrophysics and cosmology.
The observatory has two telescopes:
- JST250, Javhilo Survey Telescope, with 2.55m aperture, with a 3º field of view
- JAST80, Javhilo Auxiliary Survey Telescope, with an aperture of 83cm, with a field of view of 2º
