Evaluation of sevoflurane as a sedative in the ICUInstitute of Health Research (INCLIVA).It will investigate the use of an alternative to propofol as anesthesia for patients requiring intubation. The study will verify whether sevoflurane can replace propofol, guaranteeing its same efficacy and safety and, in addition, providing a reduction in the time needed for intubation thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties. Centres from Madrid, Basque Country and Valencia also participate in this essay.
CYBER-UCI-COVIDConsortium Center for Biomedical Research in Red, M.P, (CIBER)This is a research on risk factors, personalized forecasts and one-year follow-up of patients with COVID-19 admitted to Spanish ICUs. The study is supported by the medical societies SEMYCIUC and SEPAR and will involve the majority of Spanish ICUs.
Study of the Microbiome and Viroma associated with COVID-19 diseaseHealth and Biomedical Research Institute of Alicante (ISABIAL)Project that studies the microbiome and virome associated with COVID-19, with the objective of determining its importance in the development of infection and disease. The idea is to generate a system of early identification of the severity of a patient.
Prognosis of patients infected with the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2Health Research Institute of Santiago de CompostelaDevelopment of a predictive model based on the construction of survival algorithms and patient classification, which will also measure the effectiveness of different drugs, with the aim of identifying the most vulnerable patients against COVID-19.
Prognostic variables. Resources consumed and hospital cost of patients admitted for SARS-CoV-2 infection according to their fragilityUniversity Hospital La Paz (Foundation for Biomedical Research)The project aims to stratify the infected population into different levels of fragility. It will study the evolution of the disease and the use and consumption of health resources in patients admitted to the hospital.
Prognostic variables, resources consumed and cost in primary care of patients with COVID-19Institute of Health Research Aragon (IISA)Study on the prognostic variables, resources consumed and management costs in primary care of COVID-19. Project of population stratification of patients who do not need hospital admission.
Clinical characterization of COVID-19 infection; prognostic stratification and complicationsInstitute of Health Services Research - KronikguneResearch that will stratify the risk of COVID-19 in patients to establish the evolutionary profile of the disease. The use of different treatments and diagnostic tests will be studied and accessibility and equity in relation to the health system will be evaluated.
Multicenter study of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-2019) in Solid Organ Transplant RecipientsAndalusian Public Foundation for the Management of Health Research in Seville (FISEVI)Research on COVID-19 in potential recipients of solid organ transplants. The interactions of different treatments, their toxicity and possible rejections in the transplant will be analyzed to establish risk factors and prognostic evolution.
Pre-clinical mouse models for the study of COVID-19 and testing of therapeutic strategiesNational Cancer Research Center (CNIO)It seeks to generate preclinical mouse models to improve the study of the disease. The models generated will express the human protein ACE2, key in infection, to advance in the testing of therapeutic strategies.
The psicorona project is an international social research that is evaluating the evolution of the psychological impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. Currently there are 62,000 individuals collected with longitudinal follow-up of which 3500 are Spanish.University of CordobaStudy that evaluates the psychological impact of COVID-19, analyzing sociocultural factors related to the development of the disease.
Creation of the COVID-19 patient cohort of the health area linked to VigoHealth Research Institute of Galicia Sur (Biomedical Foundation)He leads the creation of a cohort of patients and samples associated with the Biobank of the Health Research Institute Galicia Sur. The study will allow the execution of clinical and experimental studies to increase knowledge and optimize the prevention, diagnosis, clinical follow-up and treatment of infected patients, favoring consortia and study groups with other national and international centers.
