The National Study of Sero-Epidemiology ENE-COVID concludes that 5% of the Spanish population has antibodies. This percentage has hardly changed in the three waves of which it consists: in the first it was estimated at 5% and in the second and third it has been 5.2%. An overall seroconversion rate (people who did not have antibodies in the first wave and who developed them throughout the study by having contact with the virus) of 0.9% has been observed between round 1 and round 2, a somewhat lower percentage (0.7%) between round 2 and round 3. These figures reflect the low occurrence of new infections after confinement.

The Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) has created a scientific analysis group on the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 disease. The group was born with the intention of providing a reliable source of information based on the available scientific evidence, and of responding to the main doubts and debates about the virus and the disease. This is also intended to generate another tool in the global fight against possible misinformation and false messages about the coronavirus. (More information)
