The goal of the Innvierte programme is to capitalise technology-based companies for their development and subsequent consolidation. Until 2016, this programme has mainly operated by participating in venture capital investment vehicles. A new capitalisation mechanism through co-investment was established as of 2019, accompanying private investors. This new procedure is well received by investors, allowing the programme to capitalise a significant number of Spanish “new space” companies.
To the possibility of direct co-investment by private investors and Innvierte Economía SME SIC in capital increase operations for space sector companies, we must add the capitalisation options offered by the new transfer funds that the Innvierte programme is in the process of setting up. Public investment in companies linked to the space sector in the period 2021-2025 could reach €24 m in total, mobilising total investments of close to €88 m.
