LT1.A2: Infrastructures and equipment

LT1.A2.1: Improvement of Clinical Research Units

Spain is currently the second country in the world to develop clinical trials and has excellent conditions to maintain this leadership. From a strategic point of view, the infrastructure and clinical research capacities in the Spanish SNS must evolve to retain and increase investments from the pharmaceutical industry and, at the same time, improve equitable access to it by patients. This action aims to improve research ecosystems, called Clinical Research Units, aspire to high complexity, efficiency in the development and execution of clinical trials and equitable access to clinical research by patients, with designs focused on the needs of families and patients with special attention to vulnerable groups.

LT1.A2.2: Call for Scientific-Technical Infrastructures and Equipment

The actions regulated in this resolution are aimed at fulfilling the specific objective of developing, maintaining and investing in scientific and technological infrastructures that contribute to creating an internationally competitive R+D+I ecosystem.

LT1.A2.3: Infrastructure, high biosafety laboratories and high impact CT equipment in biomedicine

The Network of High Biosafety Laboratories (RLASB) is a Unique Scientific and Technological Infrastructure (ICTS) of laboratories, which offers the possibility of using integrated laboratory and animal services, exclusively dedicated to working with infectious agents that require conditions of high biological safety for their manipulation.

LT1.A2.4: Financial assistance in the form of loans to SNS research centres for the expansion of their research and technological development capacities

A line of financial aid in the form of credits is proposed so that the research centers linked to the hospitals of the National Health System can increase their capacities in a sustainable way.
