Arkaitz Carracedo Pérez. National Research Award "Margarita Salas" in the area of biology

Arkaitz Carracedo has been recognized with the National Research Award for Young Margarita Salas, in the area of biology for addressing, with extraordinary success, issues of great relevance at the forefront of cancer research, especially in the signaling and metabolism of cancer cells, reaching a position of scientific leadership and great national and international potential.

Carracedo is an Ikerbasque research professor and associate professor at the University of the Basque Country. In 2010 he established his research line at CIC bioGUNE with the main objective of studying the unique biological characteristics of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo.
