The director of the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG, Barcelona) has been a pioneer in the field of innovative entrepreneurship by transferring the results of his research to promising and successful business projects in such important areas as drugs for chronic pain, precision medicine in the treatment of cancer, neurodegenerative diseases or Alzheimer's.
In addition, he has been at the forefront of the integration of artificial intelligence in structural biology as the creator of FoldX, a world reference software for the design and prediction of protein structures, considered by the international scientific community one of the key tools in contemporary biomedical innovation.
