Predoctoral contract (R1)
It aims to carry out research tasks, within the scope of a specific and innovative project, with a view to obtaining a doctorate (pre-doctoral research staff in training). The contract may also be aimed at postdoctoral guidance for a maximum period of 12 months, respecting the maximum total. In addition, the predoctoral research staff in training will be able to collaborate in teaching tasks up to a maximum of 180 hours during the total contract, without exceeding 60 hours per year.
The duration is 1 year extendable, subject to a report from the academic committee of the doctoral program, with a limit of 4 years or 6 years in case of disability. The calculation of the duration of the contract will be interrupted during the time dedicated to leave and leave for maternity, paternity, pregnancy, lactation, temporary incapacity, care of minors, family or dependent persons, conciliation, gender violence or similar situations. The periods of time dedicated to the enjoyment of part-time leave or reductions in working hours will result in the extension of the contract for the time equivalent to the day that has been reduced.
The contract entitles you to compensation for termination of the contract for 12 days per year worked.
Access contract for research staff doctor (R2/R3)
It is aimed primarily at carrying out research, development, knowledge transfer and innovation tasks, aimed at obtaining a high level of professional development and specialization by research personnel, leading to the consolidation of their professional experience. In addition, the contracted staff may perform teaching activity up to a maximum of 100 hours per year.
The duration is a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 6, or 8 years in case of disability. The calculation of the duration of the contract will be interrupted during the time dedicated to leave and leave for maternity, paternity, pregnancy, lactation, temporary incapacity, care of minors, family or dependent persons, conciliation, gender violence or similar situations. The periods of time dedicated to the enjoyment of part-time leave or reductions in working hours will result in the extension of the contract for the time equivalent to the day that has been reduced.
From the second year of contract, the contracted personnel may submit to an evaluation the research activity carried out, which, if positive, will involve obtaining the R3 certificate, which accredits as established research personnel, and will exempt from parts of the evidence to access official and permanent work personnel in Public Research Agencies, research agencies of the Autonomous Communities, public universities, foundations and public sector consortia. At the university level, the R3 certificate may compensate or exempt from the evaluation of the research merits in order to obtain the accreditation for tenured or permanent professor. In the case of the Public Research Agencies, it will exempt from parts of the tests that are carried out for access to the scale of Scientific Personnel Holder and those of fixed work personnel.

The call to obtain the R3 certificate will be made by the State Research Agency, and will include not only the intermediate evaluation of people with access contracts, but also the evaluation of the career of national and foreign researchers who certify participation in postdoctoral programs.
Distinguished Researcher Contract (R4)
Its objective is the direction of human teams as principal researcher, direction of research centers or transfer of knowledge and innovation, or of unique scientific and technological facilities and programs of great relevance in the field of knowledge in question. The contracted staff may carry out teaching activity up to a maximum of 100 hours per year.
It requires the title of doctor, recognized prestige and enjoy a consolidated international reputation based on the excellence of their contributions in the scientific or technical field. It can also be celebrated with technologist personnel who enjoy a consolidated international reputation based on the excellence of their contributions both in the advancement of specific research techniques, and in the valorisation and transfer of the knowledge and innovation that it has generated.
The duration of the contract will be as agreed by the parties.
Indefinite contract of scientific-technical activities
Any person in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree, Engineering, Architecture, Diploma, Technical Architecture, Technical Engineering, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, Superior or Technical Technician, Doctor’s or Doctor’s degree, or a training, experience and competencies in accordance with the requirements and tasks to be performed in the position to be covered can access this contract.
The purpose of the contract is to carry out activities linked to lines of research or scientific-technical services, including scientific-technical management. The lines are defined as a set of knowledge, concerns, products and projects, systematically built around a thematic axis in which activities carried out by one or more research groups converge and will require their development following the appropriate methodological guidelines in the form of R+D+I projects or contracts.
The duration of the contract is indefinite.
