Division of Citizen Care and Publications

The Citizen Services, Transparency and Publications Division of the General Technical Secretariat focuses its activities on:

• The management of the attention to the citizen provided through the Citizen Information Center and the telematic services developed for this purpose.
• The functional coordination and publication of digital content on the web portal.
• The organization and management of the registration assistance offices of the department.
• The exercise of the function of Transparency Information Unit of the department, the coordination of departmental initiatives in the field of open government and the management of complaints and suggestions for the services provided by the department, through the Complaints and Suggestions Unit.
• The proposal of the editorial program of the department, the realization and edition of compilations, publications and other materials of the department and, where appropriate, their distribution and sale.
• The organization and direction of the libraries and documentation centers of the department.
• The planning, promotion and coordination of the statistics of the department, as well as the formulation of the National Statistical Plan and the annual programmes that carry it out within the department, institutional coordination and relations with the National Institute of Statistics, with other ministerial departments, with other public administrations and with international bodies in everything related to information, data transfer, statistical use of internal and external administrative files and in statistical matters and the exercise of functions as a departmental statistical service, in particular those associated with statistical secrecy in accordance with the provisions of Law 12/1989, of 9 May, on the Public Statistical Function.
• The coordination and supervision of the data protection policy in compliance with the applicable regulations in this field, within the competence of the department.
• The coordination of the actions carried out by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and its related agencies and entities, dependent or attached, in the field of the dissemination of research, development and innovation activities, carrying out as many actions as deemed necessary to promote the dissemination to the public of the actions carried out by them in these areas.
