Sub-directorate General for Innovation Promotion

The Sub-Directorate General for the Promotion of Innovation, under the General Secretariat for Innovation, promotes the implementation of R+D+I activities by both the public and private sectors, through the development of the following actions:

• ERDF cofinancing of Public Innovation Procurement (CPI) projects proposed by public sector entities and bodies, as well as technical monitoring of their implementation.

• The issuance of binding motivated reports for corporate tax deductions for R&D&I activities and for bonuses on social security contributions by research personnel.

• The issuance of reports that the employer has the appropriate characteristics to carry out R&D&I activities, in order to authorize the residence and work in Spain of foreigners.

• The award of the “Innovative SME” label.

• The registration of entities in the Registry of Offices for the Transfer of Research Results.

• The registration of entities in the Register of Technology Centers and Technology Innovation Support Centers at the state level.

• The award of the City of Science and Innovation award to local entities that are distinguished by their actions in these areas.
