
This research infrastructure specialises in medical applications and provides a comprehensive and easily accessible one-stop-shop service, including the design and production of biomolecules, biomaterials, nanomaterials and their conjugates, and the characterisation of these materials, tissues, medical devices and systems, from a physical, chemical, functional, toxicological and biological point of view to their preclinical in vivo validation.
BIONAND is located in Malaga and has recently merged with the Biomedical Research Institute of Malaga (IBIMA), a Health Research Institute created in 2010 through an agreement between the Ministry of Health of the Andalusian Regional Government and the University of Malaga, becoming part of the new IBIMA Institute – BIONAND Platform from 2022.
It is a multidisciplinary centre that brings together different professionals from the health, university and business sectors to generate new systems for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases through the creation and development of devices, materials and approaches on a nanometric scale.
