Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES) - PIC

The Port d'Informació Ciencia (PIC) is a high-performance scientific data processing centre located on the campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB, Catalonia, Spain). PIC is a first level data center (Tier-1) for the experiments of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN (the European Particle Physics Laboratory near Geneva, Switzerland) and the main data center of the MAGIC Telescopes and the PAUcam camera, both located at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory in La Palma, Canary Islands. PIC is one of the scientific data centers of the terrestrial scientific segment of the European Space Agency's Euclid mission. PIC also supports other research projects in particle physics, astrophysics, observational cosmology and other fields. The PIC is maintained through a collaboration agreement between the Institute of Physics d'Altes Energies (IFAE) and the Center for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research (CIEMAT).
