Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES) - Tirant

The University of Valencia (UV) hosts the Tirant supercomputer, which is installed on the Burjassot campus and is managed by the UV Information Service (SIUV). The SIUV is responsible for managing both the aforementioned infrastructure and the system itself (at the hardware and software level).

Its staff also offers the support service to the user. The supercomputer Tirant was inaugurated in January 2008.

In its current configuration, after the last update (December 2012), Tirant is made up of 512 JS21 blades (with a total of 1,024 cores) with two PowerPC 970MP dual core processors at 2.2 GHz and 4 GB of RAM, interconnected through a Myrinet network (2Gbit/s).

This configuration provides Tirant with 2,048 cores, and a theoretical maximum yield of 18.8 Tflops. Tirant allocates 50% of its computing capacity to the RES.
