What is the European Title Supplement (SET)?
The European Diploma Supplement is a document that contains personalized information on the studies carried out, the qualifications obtained, the competences acquired and the level of the degree within the national educational system. It is delivered together with the official university degree at the request of the interested party.

The SET includes information on the studies undertaken, the results obtained, the professional skills acquired and the level of their degree in the national system of higher education.
What is the purpose of the SET?
The EETS serves to facilitate the recognition of academic qualifications in the European Higher Education Area.
What advantages does it have?
The fundamental advantage of the SET is that it promotes the mobility of graduates from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). In addition, it helps to homogenize the understanding of EHEA degrees and facilitates the recognition of university degrees (degree, master’s and doctorate) by higher education institutions, authorities and employers both in Spain and abroad.
Who issues it?
This document is issued by the universities according to the current regulations.
You can consult the official Spanish universities in the Register of Universities, Centers and Degrees (educacione.gob.es).
What regulations regulate their issuance?
For the official Degree and Master degree courses regulated by Royal Decree 1393/2007, of 29 October, and Royal Decree 822/2021, of 28 September:
- Royal Decree 22/2015 (boe.es), of January 23, which establishes the requirements for the issuance of the European Supplement to the degrees regulated in Royal Decree 1393/2007, of October 29, which establishes the organization of official university education and modifies Royal Decree 1027/2011, of July 15, which establishes the Spanish Framework of Qualifications for Higher Education.
For previous official university teachings (pre-Bologna titles):
- Royal Decree 1044/2003 (boe.es), of 1 August, establishing the procedure for the issuance by universities of the European Diploma Supplement.
For which titles is the expedition of the SET not possible?
