What is a validation?
Validation is the partial recognition of studies conducted at a foreign university. Se regula en el Real Decreto 889/2022 (boe.es), de 18 de octubre.
What's the point?
It serves to continue university studies in Spain.
How do you recognize foreign studies that ended with obtaining a diploma?
- Request the homologation or equivalence.
- Request partial validation at the university to which you want to access.
- Validation may also be requested after completion of the approval if the approval has been unfavourable, or if the deadline for completion of the supplementary training requirements has expired.
Which subjects or studies cannot be validated?
- The work of the end of the Degree and the work of the end of the University Master's Degree.
- Foreign studies carried out, in whole or in part, in Spain, when the centers or degrees they teach are not accredited.
Are there any incompatibilities?
The approval and validation processes cannot be requested simultaneously.

The validation by Spanish university studies corresponds to the universities.
