Monitoring and Assessment
The State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research (PEICTI) defines its internal governance system and creates the Committee for Coordination, Monitoring and Evaluation of the PEICTI itself (CCSE_PEICTI), in which the ministries with R&D&I responsibilities included in the PEICTI are represented, as well as the funding agents dependent on the MICIU. This Committee has a flexible structure that allows it to hold sectoral and/or thematic working sessions with different SECTI stakeholders, as well as to hold joint meetings with representatives from four different sectors (administration, research organisations, companies and civil society).
An annual monitoring report for the PEICTI is expected to be published, which will include context, achievement and result indicators. In addition, the PEICTI itself incorporates monitoring indicators with annual information. This report is also included in this section with a dynamic design that facilitates analysis (PEICTI Indicator Report)
What's more, an interim assessment will be performed on the PEICTI with a final assessment in the second half of 2029. As provided for in the Science Act, an external and independent assessment will be carried out, which will prioritise criteria of scientific excellence, efficiency and economic impact on the Spanish territory, and which will involve the participation of the private sector and social agents.
