The Committee for Coordinating and Monitoring Activities of Ocean Divers (COCSABO), created by Order PRE/583/2003, of 13 March, is the collegial body responsible for proposing and coordinating scientific or technical actions carried out by oceanographic vessels. It is attached to the General Secretariat for Research at the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
It is up to this Committee to:
- Plan scientific and technical campaigns for oceanographic research vessels, their monitoring and periodic evaluation.
- Analyse the needs for scientific equipment, technical equipment, research support personnel and other resources and means required for carrying out oceanographic campaigns.
- Evaluate the costs associated with oceanographic campaigns.
