
This research infrastructure specialises in medical applications and provides a comprehensive and easily accessible one-stop-shop service, including the design and production of biomolecules, biomaterials, nanomaterials and their conjugates, and the characterisation of these materials, tissues, medical devices and systems, from a physical, chemical, functional, toxicological and biological point of view to their preclinical in vivo validation.
It is a public research centre focused on contributing to the increase of knowledge and use of technologies related to biomedicine and minimally invasive surgery, as well as other related disciplines in the social and healthcare field, through research, dissemination, innovation and technology transfer activities in collaboration with other international organisations.
The CCMIJU operates seven units distributed among the different NANBIOSIS platforms. Its most unique facilities include its animal unit of over 2,000 m2 and its operating theatre unit comprising ten experimental operating theatres with state-of-the-art equipment, providing cutting-edge services in translational and methodological research.
