Preclinical Infrastructure and Development of Minimally Invasive Technologies (CCMIJU)

The research infrastructure is oriented to medical applications and offers a complete and easily accessible service, through a single window, which includes the design, production of biomolecules, biomaterials, nanomaterials and their conjugates, and the characterization of these materials, tissues, medical devices and systems, from a physical, chemical, functional, toxicological and biological point of view until their preclinical validation in vivo.

It is located in Cáceres at the CCMIJU, a public research center, whose strategic mission is to contribute to the increase of knowledge and use of technologies related to biomedicine and minimally invasive surgery, as well as other annexed disciplines, in the socio-health field, by carrying out research, dissemination, innovation and technology transfer activities in collaboration with other agents at international level.

The CCMIJU participates with seven units distributed among the different platforms of NANBIOSIS; among the most unique facilities are the animal farm of more than 2,000 m2 and the operating room unit that has ten experimental operating rooms equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, which provides first-class services in translational and methodological research.
