The European Qualifications Framework (EFQ) is the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning. It is a common reference system that facilitates the comparison of qualifications between European countries in a transparent and consistent manner, by matching them with the national qualifications frameworks of the European Education Area States. The EQF is structured into eight reference levels, as set out in the Council Recommendation (europass.europa.eu).
