Combatting fraud

One of the tasks that the Subdirectorate for ERDF Management entrusts to the Undersecretary of Science and Innovation as an Intermediate Body for the Spanish ERDF Multi-Regional Operational Programme for 2014-2020 is the implementation of effective and proportionate anti-fraud measures.

In its Institutional Declaration on Anti-Fraud, the Undersecretary of Science and Innovation declares its commitment to combating fraud and promoting an organisational culture that prevents any fraudulent activity.

In addition, the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities has a mailbox for reporting possible cases of fraud, corruption and conflict of interest related to activities funded by European Funds (antifraude.mcin@ciencia.gob.es). Any information reported through this channel will be treated confidentially, respecting the anonymity of the person providing the information, and under no circumstances may reprisals be taken or this information be published on websites.

The National Anti-Fraud Coordination Service (SNCA), which reports to the Comptroller General of the State (IGAE) within the Ministry of Finance, is responsible for coordinating all actions related to the protection of the financial interests of the European Union against fraud in collaboration with the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF). The SNCA provides citizens with a channel for reporting information on fraud or irregularities affecting European Funds.
