This program is oriented to the development of strategic actions based on hydrogen to transform the current energy paradigm and minimize the emission of greenhouse gases. In particular, the parties express their willingness to identify, as appropriate, as areas of future collaboration for the development of the program, the following lines of action (LA):
- LA-1: Generation of green hydrogen at low temperature from renewable energy.
- LA-2: Generation of green hydrogen at low temperature from off-shore wind energy.
- LA-3: Generation of hydrogen at high temperature from renewable energy and through the use of residual heat.
- LA-4: Generation of hydrogen and biomethane from biomass.
- LA-5: Generation of biofuels from hydrogen and CO2.
- LA-6: Development of systems for the storage under pressure and supply of green hydrogen.
- LA-7: Uses of hydrogen in heavy transport, air and maritime sector.
- LA-8: Uses of hydrogen in the industrial combustion sector.
- LA-9: Uses of hydrogen in the industrial and domestic sector using fuel cells.
- LA-10: Uses of hydrogen in the industrial sector for reducing CO2 emissions and as a chemical agent.
- LA-11: Technical-economic studies and launch to the market of utility models. Activities for the dissemination, training and training of new researchers.
- LA-12: General coordination of the project.
- LA-13: Implementation of the National Center for Energy Storage Research.
The programme was initially launched with the Autonomous Communities of the Basque Country, the Principality of Asturias, Aragon, Castilla La Mancha, the Canary Islands, the Autonomous Community of Navarre, Extremadura and Madrid, with the participation of the CSIC, through the signing of a framework agreement with the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
Subsequently, following the Agreement of the Scientific, Technological and Innovation Policy Council of 22 June 2022, the Autonomous Communities of Cantabria and Castilla y León have been incorporated.
