Eugenio Oñate Ibáñez de Navarra, National Research Award Leonardo Torres Quevedo in Engineering and Architecture
Eugenio Oñate is a distinguished senior researcher at the International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE), president of the Board of Trustees of the IMDEA Materials Institute and professor emeritus of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
He has received the Award for his outstanding scientific career in the field of Computational Mechanics. From his career he has highlighted the impact of his pioneering contributions in the development of computational methods for engineering applications and the foundation of the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering, an institution of reference at national and international level.
