Patricia Urquiola Hidalgo National Design Award 2025 Trajectory in Design

Patricia Urquiola Hidalgo has been distinguished by the jury as an undisputed figure of Spanish design on an international scale, in recognition of an exceptional career that has transformed contemporary design.

It also underlines its valuable contribution to Spanish design and its dissemination in the world thanks to an intense and careful teaching, academic, museum and exhibition work. She is an architect and designer of international impact, trained at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura in Madrid and at the Politécnico in Milan under the tutelage of great masters such as Achille Castiglioni and Vico Magistretti.

Since the foundation of his studio in Milan in 2001, Urquiola has collaborated with the most prestigious firms in the world, such as Alessi, Moroso, Andreu World, Cassina, Kartell or B&B, and has created iconic pieces that are exhibited in museums of international relevance, including the MoMA in New York and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris.

His work, characterized by a fusion of technological innovation, exquisite artisanal sensitivity and commitment to sustainability, has profoundly renewed the vision of 21st century design, always from a humanistic, experimental and social approach that extends its roots in beauty and in a constant dialogue with society.
