María del Carme Rovira Virgili, Premio Nacional de Investigación Enrique Moles en Ciencia y Tecnología Químicas

María del Carme Rovira Virgili is an ICREA research professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Barcelona (UB). She has been awarded for her revolutionary contributions in computational chemistry applied to enzymes of biomedical and biotechnological interest that have revealed key molecular mechanisms in glycobiology. His work has promoted advances in biofuels, intestinal microbiota and degradation of marine polysaccharides, thus consolidating his international leadership.
