Interministerial Commission for the incorporation of innovation criteria in public procurement

The Interministerial Commission for the Incorporation of Innovation Criteria in Public Procurement (CI2CP) is a collegial body attached to the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, through the General Secretariat for Innovation.

Its purpose is to ensure the coordination of the General State Administration, its bodies and entities governed by public law and the common services and institutions that manage the Social Security service, in the incorporation and use of innovation criteria in public procurement.

In particular, the Commission will promote the consideration of innovation at all stages of contracting procedures, disseminate best administrative practices, and evaluate the techniques and options for promoting innovation in current regulations in order to proactively promote criteria that allow innovative public purchasing, and where appropriate, study the need for possible improvements in the regulatory framework of innovative public procurement.
