In November 2018, the EC launched the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) initiative, which will federate national data infrastructures from 2021 onwards with the mission of offering scientists and technologists access to data storage, management, analysis and reuse resources in a multidisciplinary way.
EOSC will be one of the partners included in the Horizon Europe Strategic Agenda (2021-2027) and will become the main instrument for promoting open science policies in Europe. As a first step towards this collaboration, the EOSC Association (EOSC AISBL) was established on 29 July 2020. Among the four partners responsible for the formation of the Association is the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), which acts as an organization with a ministerial mandate (mandated organisation). The EOSC Association will ensure collaboration between stakeholders interested in contributing to EOSC (funding agencies, research bodies, users and service providers).
