Didactic resources

This section includes materials, guides and resources made from different public and private areas, both national and international, to raise awareness, promote and raise awareness about gender equality in science, technology and innovation and in the promotion of STEM vocations, especially among girls.

To this end, the Women and Science Unit (UMyC) has produced a series of informative videos and didactic material focused on eliminating the visible and invisible barriers encountered by women researchers, such as:

  • Video on unconscious gender biases in R+D+I.
  • Vídeo sobre cómo integrar la dimensión de género en los proyectos de I+D+I.

In addition, the UMyC and the State Research Agency (AEI) have developed a series of e-learning training modules on different aspects of gender equality in R+D+I, within the framework of the European EXCEED project in which they have collaborated since 2018, as part of the actions of the AEI 1st Equality Plan 2021-2023 for R+D+I financing activities. The modules are as follows:

For its part, the Equality Unit has produced 2 downloadable informative brochures on women who made history, innovators, researchers and academics who have made great contributions to science, technology and knowledge:

  • Pocket brochures.
  • Booklets for coloring.

Unconscious gender biases in R&D&I

The existence of unconscious gender biases that could harm them in access, promotion and evaluation, as well as promoting egalitarian, diverse and inclusive environments where science is done and researched, so that both they and they can achieve their full potential under conditions of real equality.

The gender dimension in R&D&I projects

It is essential to integrate gender analysis in all phases of the research cycle, which means taking into account both the biological characteristics of women and men (sex) and their social and cultural characteristics as well as the different impact that the results can have on each other, with the ultimate aim of benefiting women and men equally, reflecting an excellent science and with social commitment.
