Eduardo Anitua National Innovation Award 2021. Innovative Trajectory

Doctor of Medicine and Surgery. Specialist in Stomatology. He combines scientific research as founder and Scientific Director of the company BTI Biotechnology Institute with private clinical practice, in addition to directing the University Institute of Regenerative Medicine and Oral Implantology of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and chairing the Foundation for Biomedical Research that bears his name. Known worldwide for being a pioneer in the development of techniques in bioimplantology and tissue regeneration, as well as for being the author of the technology of Plasma Rich in Growth Factors (PRGF®-Endoret®) and its application in different areas of medicine. He has 51 international patents, is the author of more than 270 scientific articles published in indexed journals, several hundred more in clinical journals, as well as more than 25 books and surgical manuals.

A scientific productivity and quality as a researcher whose impact can be reflected in its H Index of 62 and in its more than 20,000 accumulated citations. In addition, Eduardo Anitua has been included in the recent classification “Ranking of the World Scientists: World´s Top 2% Scientists” developed by Stanford University, as the most influential Spanish researcher in Dentistry and number 62 worldwide.
