How to apply for the approval?

The application procedure is processed exclusively through the electronic office of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities in application for approval of foreign degrees (universidades.sede.gob.es).

After completing the application and submitting it, you can check the status of the processing of your file.

IMPORTANT

If the ANECA has published general measures relating to its degree and university, the processing will be quicker. Check Measures to see if any general measures apply to your university degree.

If you do not find it, it does not mean that your degree does not meet the requirements to be approved, but that the ANECA will have to evaluate if it meets them.

If your degree is from the European Union, EEA or Switzerland, what options do you have?

If your qualification belongs to the European Economic Area (EEA), you can also practise the profession by applying for professional recognition from the Ministry of Health (sanidad.gob.es) according to Directive 2005/36/EC.

This procedure is free of charge.

More information at the Ministry of Health Electronic Headquarters (sede.mscbs.gob.es).

Do you want to apply for other jobs with your degree?

If you do not wish to practise as a clinical psychologist or as a general health psychologist in Spain, you can always request the declaration of equivalence of your university studies and apply for jobs for your own account, for an employed person or for the public administration.

Consult the Official College of Psychologists if the activities you want to carry out are attributions of the profession of psychologist or not.
